Spectators are guests of the competition. Their role is to support and encourage from the sideline during games. To ensure each game is conducted in a positive manner, you as a spectator ARE EXPECTED TO:

• Be supportive of the aims and ethos of the Basketball Innovations Competition.
• Cooperate all times with Basketball Innovations officials, umpires and coaches.
• Remember players are involved in the game for their enjoyment not yours.
• Encourage people to always play according to the rules.
• Be a model of good sporting behaviour for children, youth and adults to copy.
• Be courteous in your communication with officials, umpires, teams, coaches, players and other spectators.
• Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical violence from the game.
• Never ridicule or abuse officials, umpires, teams, coaches or players.
• Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of gender, ability, culture, race or religion.
• Support all efforts to ensure that games run on time.
• Put all issues and complaints into writing to the competition management.
• Recognize the value and importance of volunteer coaches and scorers. They give of their time and resources and deserve your support.
